Background investigations play an important role at Trinidad Law Office, LLC.

We Investigate Up Front
A common question we hear is,
“Sure, I’m willing to pay for an investigation… but only if you are certain that I have a case! So, yes or no, do I have a case?”
Nobody can answer that UNTIL there has been an in-depth investigation. Furthermore, understanding your situation is always in your own best interest. That is true whether or not you will be able to pursue a case at this time.
We investigate your history up front, before we take action on your behalf.

We Want To Protect You & Avoid Bad Surprises.
Immigration officials never take action based only on what someone tells them! Good or bad, all immigration officials conduct their own background investigations before taking action & before making any decisions about you. Immigration officials have access to many sources of information, such as: fingerprints, court records, driving history, history of failures to appear, social media/facial recognition software, credit checks, your tattoos, etc.. Police, prosecutors, and judges also frequently look to your history first, before taking any legal action.
To be sure: YES, we are absolutely interested in your oral history. We do listen carefully to whatever you tell us! However, Ms. Trinidad is also a firm believer in having records so that her legal advice is based on facts, not just on your memory and/or your or her beliefs. We check your fingerprints with the FBI; we make OBIM FOIA requests; we get your A file from USCIS; we order your driver history abstract; we track down your court records, incl. traffic tickets.
Due diligence helps prevent surprises and unnecessary stress later on.
